I have quite a few video on PC maintenance
IDE raid
During web designer age i alway go sim lim square to buy things and i only pick items that i am curios and cheap to try. First boost to my pc changing my IDE cable to flat slim version and my speed went from ATA 33 to ATA 66. Then i go on buy ATA 133 but found my harddisk not support it. THen this raid card is next to try to buy, without knowing how to configure i only plug in and boot to windows. AFter this IT job now than i know there is few configuration require 2 identitcal hardidsk. So next new thing is ssd boot up. Super fast that HDD , this SSD is later found to eat 1 a than thos 0.5a i find my power supply die first. So out of fun i flim in my handphone and posted it on youtube.
VHD windows 7
After SSD upgrade was boring. So dig on windows 7 new VHD virtual harddisk. It was fun squeezing all into it and can copy just 1 file to move all files. When Zdnet show that i can run vhd during installation disk. Ideal struck of putting my windows 7 on to VHD boot up. This video show successfull that C: is actuall from VHD file 80 gb. This tech was actually found in android where the whole OS is boot to virtual file. But after lots of windows update it say you cannot boot to this windows from virutal. And years during work as IT support. My boss show me that license has two types one physical one virtual need to buy or come with. But anyway windows 10 age has come in and their boot up is same speed compare to this setup.
SSD failure
Many years back in windows 7 i still can remember it did prompt your harddisk is going to die. But when SSD age came in it just fail to boot up or cannot be detected. NOt even have possibility to retrieve any data. Only recent year when i am free. I compare those free software they all say not much can be tell on health of harddisk. So i go to manufacture site to dig on it. And finally there is actually software to aid on this. Hopefully it will say harddisk going to die. But then kind of think of it some free onedrive can keep importatn data. Which is less issue.
CPU over heat
While my job ended as boss retire, suddenly i cann't boot up my PC. i anaylze my pc to CPU dead motherboard still alive. It was like how come i didn't put any stopper and when to look for a software to help. I found it and i set it to auto logout before continue any process to over heat my cheap 80degree AMD.
Virus
After installing new PC and spend $500 plus. My pc started showing mouse move itself. Then i realize why my PC overheat , it could be hacker started a PC stress test. Then i quickly uninstall 3d benchmark. But the hacker continue and My antivirus show more popup.
New spoolsv.exe
According to antivirus this spoolsv is recieving inbound traffic so i delete and put a new one from sfc command. i thought cured already.
New SVChost.exe
According to antivirus this now it automatically switch same thing to svchost.exe which is windows system file no way to delete. but still i know how to delete and put new one.
PC reset
I learn that reinstalling windows is totally useless, I switch to easy PC reset.
App store
I learn that after scanning lots of my files most of the virus are those essentail free software. So no choice to catch the virus i have to use alternative.
App store Uninstall
As every one is used to uninstall in the same location i suddenly forget how to uninstall app end up wasting time. So i made this video to help myself next time.
Hidden partition
Old days where i repair pc i always scann hidden partition , it just that after 10 years i seldom do that. And retry this and delete to see if virus still active.
Ativirus setting
I can't believe i paid premium but i didn't turn on many feature like rootkit scan. Made this video to remind my self
Windows firewall setting
I can't believe the answer is HNS container which is install by hyper V i can disable this rule and antivirus stop showing popup. Also i find a software to block changes to windows firewall rules.
Windows firewall Auto generate
I can't believe s HNS container will generate new one and i have to find a way to do it every boot up. Lucky some microsoft article show the powershell script to delete. But i change to disable and add SVCHost and spoolsv and more. Now my PC boot up automatically with all these disable.
Account passwordless
I am abit fed up so trying new things passwordless account setting and made a video of it.
